Well, I've done the hard thing. I've officially sent out Vexed & Hexed to agents as I seek representation.


Now, I await all the rejection. I know it's coming... but maybe... just maybe... someone will want to take a chance on me and this story. I hope so, otherwise, I would have never put it out into the world. Historically, I've kept these parts of myself contained and avoided sharing bits of myself, so in having gone this far... I've grown a ton.


On Thanksgiving morning, I got my first request for more! It was thrilling! Unfortunately, it was short-lived. The next day, I received my first rejection from another agent. Additionally, yesterday, I received a thoughtful rejection after uploading my full pitch to the first agent.


Though, I wish it were a more collaborative process. One of their comments was that they weren't sure about the color scheme. I am definitely open to changing the colors! Unfortunately, a pass is the end of the process with that agent. I appreciate the opportunity to send the full pitch, and ultimately their brief feedback.


On to the next! This really is the best kind of exposure therapy for sitting with discomfort...
