As we started the Kids Comics Studio Anthology last year, everyone loved the idea of documenting the process through 4-panel comics. During the zoom meeting, Janna Morishima had made a comment about the anthology process being "like herding cats." Instantly, I knew the purr-fect way to immortalize the moment as a 4-panel comic.

As excited as everyone was about the Comicstorian project, there were only a handful of creators that had any extra time to create extra 4-panel comics. Only a few of us were the easy to herd kind. Each time a surprise Comicstorian post showed up, it was always a gem. These artifacts exist in reference to such a specific time and place and only because of this anthology endeavor. It's a neat time-capsule that doesn't involve digging.

When I drew up the Kids Comics Unite mascots herding cats, I could not have guessed that a few months later the mascots would inspire more 4-panel adventures to grace our social media. Each time a newsletter/blog posts, my goal is to have a related mascot comic. It's worked so far, but rumor has it that newsletters may be switching to daily when we get closer to launching the Kickstarter. I may switch to a single panel per newsletter instead of four!

Today, I had the opportunity to compile all of the mascot adventure comics. It was such a treat. Of the 14 made so far, I have been solely responsible for 10 mascot adventure comics and co-contributor to 2 others. They're not the most beautiful, or the most creative things I've made... but seeing them progress over the last year - priceless! It's been nice to play around with existing characters and I'll miss them when the project ends.

Hopefully, I'll get to share a compiled version of them someday.
